The provision for income taxes is based on the Company’s current estimate of the annual effective tax rate. The effective income tax rates for the thirteen weeks ended April 29, 2017 and April 30, 2016 were 40.3% and 37.6%, respectively. The difference between our effective tax rate and federal statutory tax rate is primarily related to state income taxes.
