| Summary of Significant Accounting Policies | 2. Summary of Significant Accounting Policies Our significant accounting policies are described in Note 2 of the Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements included in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2015 (“2015 Form 10-K”). Recently Issued Accounting Standards In March 2016, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) issued Accounting Standards Update (“ASU”) No. 2016-09, “Compensation – Stock Compensation (Topic 718): Improvements to Employee Share-Based Payment Accounting.” ASU No. 2016-09 requires all income tax effects of awards to be recognized in the income statement when the awards vest or are settled. The guidance also requires the presentation of excess tax benefits as an operating activity on the statement of cash flows rather than as a financing activity. This update is effective for annual periods beginning after December 15, 2016, including interim periods within those annual periods. Early adoption is permitted. Amendments related to the timing of when excess tax benefits are recognized should be applied using a modified retrospective transition method. An entity may elect to apply the amendments related to the presentation of excess tax benefits on the statement of cash flows using either a prospective transition method or a retrospective transition method. We are currently evaluating our planned method of adoption and the impact the standard may have on our consolidated financial statements and related disclosures. |
