| BASIS OF PRESENTATION |
NOTE 1 – BASIS OF PRESENTATION The accompanying unaudited consolidated financial statements of BSB Bancorp, Inc. have been prepared in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) for interim financial information and with the instructions to Form 10-Q and Rule 10-01 of Regulations S-X. Accordingly, certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP have been condensed or omitted pursuant to such rules and regulations. The consolidated financial statements of BSB Bancorp, Inc. include the balances and results of operations of BSB Bancorp, Inc., a Maryland corporation, and its wholly-owned subsidiary Belmont Savings Bank (referred to herein as “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Intercompany transactions and balances are eliminated in the consolidation. In the opinion of management, the accompanying unaudited consolidated financial statements contain all adjustments (consisting only of normal recurring accruals) necessary to present fairly the Company’s financial position as of September 30, 2012 and December 31, 2011 and the results of operations and cash flows for the interim periods ended September 30, 2012 and 2011. All interim amounts have not been audited, and the results of operations for the interim periods herein are not necessarily indicative of the results of operations to be expected for the fiscal year. The accompanying consolidated financial statements should be read in conjunction with the audited consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes thereto included in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2011. |
